Privacy Policy

Who we are

Linkify Opener is a product of Linkify Solutions Inc., a Canadian company. This policy describes what information the service collects, why we collect it, and how you can exercise your rights under Canadian privacy law, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, where it applies, Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

What we store

Your email address. We store it in plaintext because magic-link sign-in needs a readable address to send you a sign-in link, and it is how your account is identified.

Sign-in and session records. When you request a sign-in link or sign in, we keep a record that includes a hashed IP address, a hashed token and the browser's user-agent string — never the raw IP address or the plain token.

Scan events. When a link is scanned or opened, we record the event: the device platform and browser, the browser's user-agent string, the country reported by Cloudflare's network, the Cloudflare datacenter code, the full referring URL when the browser sends one, how the visitor arrived (a QR code, an NFC tag, or a link click), a coarse source tag, and a hashed IP address. We delete these event-level records — including the hashed IP address — after 60 days on a daily schedule; per-visit statistics that carry no IP address or user-agent are retained longer in Cloudflare's analytics.

Consent records. When you accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, we keep a record of which document and version you accepted, when you accepted it, the hashed IP address and user-agent of the acceptance, and a hash of the exact wording you saw. This is our proof of consent under CASL.

Billing records. If you subscribe, we store the Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, your plan and plan status, and your renewal date. We never store your card details.

Uploaded artwork. If you upload images for your links (for example a QR code or app-store artwork), we store them so they can be served on your link's pages.

What we never store

Card details. We never see or store your credit or debit card number. Payments are handled by Stripe, our payment processor, on Stripe's systems.

How we use your email address

Transactional messages. We use your email address to send sign-in links and, the first time you sign in, a welcome email. Transactional mail is sent regardless of marketing preferences.

Marketing messages. With your consent, captured at sign-up, we may send you product news and offers from Linkify and selected partners. Every marketing message includes a one-click unsubscribe, and we honour it: you can stop marketing email at any time without affecting transactional mail.

Cookies

We set only first-party cookies: a session cookie that keeps you signed in and, during sign-in, a short-lived security cookie. We do not use cookies for advertising and we do not allow third-party trackers on our site.

Where your data is stored

The service runs on Cloudflare's network. Your data is stored with Cloudflare (our database, object storage and analytics) and processed by Cloudflare Workers and our email provider.

Your rights and deletion

You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information at any time by writing to the contact address published at linkifysolutions.com. We will respond in accordance with applicable law.
